Real estate serving local authorities: the SNI group
With nearly 300,000 dwellings managed, the SNI Group offers a full range of rental services: social or interim housing, open or assisted rental, hostels for young workers, residences for students or the elderly, police or fire service barracks, assisted home buying schemes for low income buyers, etc. This diversity allows it to satisfy the housing needs of the State, local authorities and large public institutions. Its motto: real estate serving public authorities.
Using interim housing, SNI is helping to relaunch the rental market. It strives to build 1,000 dwellings a year in order to satisfy the demand from low income clients.
Local authorities have major social housing requirements. Through its investment, the Group, along with its 14 ESH (social housing enterprises) throughout the country, contributes to the development of this stock and also promotes social and generational desegregation. These are low-rent or other types of dwelling, but scrupulously comply with social rental criteria. Objectives: building more than 3,500 dwellings a year (2% of the total stock) and upgrading a quarter of dwellings by late 2009.
The SNI Group promotes property and buying schemes for low income buyers. This is the aim, for example, of the SNAP subsidiary (national association for home ownership). Moreover, the ESH commit to sale-to-tenant schemes.
