The back to school allowance of the children entrusted to child social service

Did you benefit from the back to school allowance in 2016? Were you entrusted to a child social service or with a care organization? You have just had 18 years or you are emancipated and wish to get your money back? A new plan is implemented at Caisse des Dépôts.

Caisse des Dépôts is yet to receive the back to school allowance sums for the start of the 2016/2017 school year. The scheme is being phased in with all of the stakeholders pulling together: organisations depositing social benefits (Caisse d’allocations familiales and Mutualité sociale agricole) and Caisse des Dépôts.

There is no point in contacting Caisse des Dépôts before January 2017, as it will not yet have received all the sums from the social benefits organisations.

Back to school allowance: Caisse des Dépôts’ role – From the start of the 2016/2017 school year, the legislator has assigned a new general interest mission to Caisse des Dépôts. It now receives and protects the back to school allowance funds for children entrusted to Social Care Services for Children (ASE) to allow them to build up savings. These savings will then be paid out to the child when they reach adulthood or, where applicable, when they achieve emancipation.
