Ile-de-France: €252mn for the transport infrastructure
Transport infrastructure - 02 January 2012
Within the framework of the specific budget of loans on savings funds, Caisse des Dépôts granted a €252mn loan to the Ile-de-France Region to finance the contributions brought in 2011 by the Region to the projects of transport infrastructure.
This infrastructure loan, the largest ever made by Caisse des Dépôts in the Ile-de-France Region, will fund the Region’s contribution to financing the 2007-2013 projects agreement, including:
- modernisation of the RER B express rail line,
- work on 16 operations, in particular on a number of tram lines: the T2 line (extension of the line to Pont de Bezons), the Villejuif-Juvisy and Saint-Denis-Garge-Sarcelles lines and the extension of line 8 to Créteil Sud,
- implementation of second phases of major construction projects, such as the extension of Métro lines 4 and 12.
By providing subsidised loans, Caisse des Dépôts is playing its part in the modernisation of public transport networks in the Ile-de-France, a vital factor in the competitiveness of the Paris Region.
