CDC Entreprises goes on its partnership with Buffet Group
Financing companies - 10 April 2012
CDC Entreprises, through the Fonds Patrimoine et Création fund, goes on its partnership with Buffet Group by participating in the buyout operation by Foundations Capital.
CDC Entreprises, which manages the Patrimoine et Création II investment fund, had already participated in a contribution of €4mn in 2010 to help the company pursue its international growth.
Now CDC Entreprises is once again partnering the firm, via the Patrimoine et Création II fund, by participating in a buyout by management and the Fondations Capital fund. The operation will enable the company to accelerate the pace of international growth already under way in Asia, and also to break into Latin America. It is also perfectly in keeping with the core strategy of the Patrimoine et Création II fund: participating in a new phase of value creation for a strong French brand.
The Buffet Crampon brand, renowned amongst musicians for its clarinets, is a name to be reckoned with in the wind instruments market. An already extensive range of instruments will be further developed, particularly in the brass section, with the aim of making the firm the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end wind instruments.
The €45mn Patrimoine et Création II fund, which is managed by CDC Entreprises, was set up to provide equity capital financing for already independent, mature and profitable French SMEs with annual revenue in excess of €5mn in the culture and heritage sectors, including publishing, cinema, broadcasting, music and luxury goods.
