The FSI invests in Qosmos
Financing business - 15 September 2011
The Strategic Investment Fund (FSI) has invested €10mn in Qosmos as part of a capital funding round of €19.8mn, in which Alven Capital and DFJ Esprit also took part, intended to fuel the company’s expansion over the next few years.
Paris-based firm Qosmos, founded in 2000, is the leading provider of network intelligence technology. A pioneer in its field, the company provides unique technology for real-time identification and analysis of data crossing IP (Internet Protocol) networks. This information is not only essential for communications, but also plays a critical role in professional and security applications, in particular network traffic optimisation, service management, quality assurance, audience metrics, market research and IT network security.
Qosmos products are used by network equipment providers, software vendors and systems integrators in the telecoms, networking and cybersecurity markets, who embed Qosmos NI technology to better manage, track and monetise the massive increases in business and consumer network data transactions.
Qosmos has posted profits since 2009 and reported 40% revenue growth for 2010. The investment will boost the firm’s equity through a capital increase and the issue of convertible bonds, and will be used principally to support the firm’s international expansion and to fuel new product development and global marketing efforts, as well as fund potential acquisitions.
