Salon des entrepreneurs: Caisse des Dépôts a partner

Caisse des Dépôts was an official partner beside the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, the City of Paris and the APCE, of the 19th meeting of the Salon des entrepreneurs (The Entrepreneurs Fair), organized by Les Echos, which was held in Paris on 1st and 2nd February.
La Fabrique
Under the name La Fabrique, Caisse des Dépôts federates the stands manned by 15 business start-up networks, notably Réseau Entreprendre, France Active and Force Femmes, and, for the first time, ADIE2 and the General Confederation of SCOPs3. The aim is to play a pivotal role for all companies by bringing the supply of financing into line with demand.
1st of February
Opening plenary session: The golden rules for guaranteeing the development of your new company
During the introductory round table, Augustin de Romanet, CEO and Chairman of Caisse des Dépôts, gave a reminder of the various provisions set up by the Caisse des Dépôts Group to assist in the financing of companies and particularly the creation and development of SMEs.
He thus spoke of the availability of teams at Caisse des Dépôts, the Fonds Stratégique d’Investissement (FSI), CDC Entreprises and FSI Régions to assist SMEs. He underlined the existing factors slowing down the opening up of SMEs’ capital which need to be eliminated, and the need to facilitate transfers of businesses within families.
At the end of this opening plenary session, the French President addressed the 3,000 entrepreneurs present.
Plenary session on: Serial entrepreneurs & investors: how to convince people and raise funds
Philippe Braidy, Chairman of CDC Entreprises and France brevets, deputy CEO and Chairman of the FSI in charge of SMEs and regional action, gave a reminder of the characteristics of the risk capital market in France. He underlined the importance of diversity in the culture and approach of the various public and private investment funds to echo the diversity of the projects proposed by entrepreneurs. He pointed out that €400mn of the Investments for the Future Programme (PIA) were dedicated to innovative new companies via the Fonds national d’amorçage (FNA).
2nd of February
Plenary session on socially responsible entrepreneurship: Innovate and become a socially responsible entrepreneur!
After firsthand accounts by several socially responsible entrepreneurs and talks by Christian Sautter (France Active) and Hugues Sibille (Crédit coopératif), Jean-Marc Maury, Head of Economic Development and Social Economy at Caisse des Dépôts, spoke of the Caisse des Dépôts’ various links and actions in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) field. He pointed out in conclusion that €100mn of the PIA entrusted to Caisse des Dépôts is to be invested in this sector over the 2011-2014 period.
