Signing of the Long term investors' Club Charter

Signing of the Long term investors' Club Charter

International  - 20 April 2009

At the invitation of Augustin de Romanet, Caisse des Dépôts Chairman and CEO, a meeting was held on 20 April 2009 in Paris between the four CEO of the main European public finance institutions: Philippe Maystadt, from the European Investment Bank (EIB), Franco Bassanini, from of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Italy), and Dr. Ulrich Schröder, from KfW Bankengruppe (Germany).

The four CEO formally signed the Long term investors' Club Charter, an initiative launched by Caisse des Dépôts.

What is the Long term investors' club Charter?

The Charter aims to bring together long term entities to assert their common identity. Using a range of initiatives, for example academic studies and research, the Long term investors' Club will promote these financial actors whose activity is a decisive factor in ensuring international financial stability and healthy economic growth.

Other long term financial institutions and particularly those in emerging countries are invited to join this international cooperation initiative which aims to overcome the protectionist temptations during crisis.

This meeting is part of a long-established practice of regular contact between these institutions, which share common values and missions and among which cooperation developed considerably in 2008.
