Culture is a public good
Caisse des Dépôts' sponsorship initiatives aim above all to promote access to culture by the public at large. They are carried forward by strong values: trust, general interest and modernity.
Intended for audiences excluded from cultural life, the projects spread out in all regions of France.
Today, the three major areas in which Caisse des Dépôts is involved as a sponsor are:
- urban solidarity: young peoples' integration, residents' participation in local life thanks to artistic practice and support for urban dance,
- reading: prevention of failure at school at an early age and of illiteracy,
- classical and contemporary music: popularising classical music in France and support for contemporary "art music"
How sponsorship works
Who? Projects are selected by a sponsorship committee, made up of Caisse des Dépôts managers and executives.
When? The committee meets at the end of March, end of June and end of October of the year in course.
How? Files must arrive at Caisse des Dépôts one month and a half before the date of the sponsorship committee meeting.
Proximity as a priority
Reflecting Caisse des Dépôts itself, sponsorship actions are carried out in all the regions of France. Almost half of the projects supported are outside Paris and Ile-de-France.
Caisse des Dépôts' regional management bodies support these actions on a more local level. Numerous partnerships have thus been forged with territorial authorities around cultural events which all contribute to economic dynamism and largely involve local people.
Involved employees
Caisse des Dépôts' teams are associated with sponsorship operations.
They are regularly invited to attend events and to meet the associations and cultural establishments which Caisse des Dépôts is supporting.
Their donations to great humanitarian causes and to health (Tsunami, Telethon, etc) also have abundant sponsorship support.
Sponsorship also supports the work of the "CDC Développement solidaire" (CDC Solidarity development) association, which brings together members of staff from the Caisse des Dépôts Group and finances local projects.
In the continuation of its partnership with the "Lire et faire lire" association , the sponsorship department proposes to the employees more than fifty years old and the retired people of the Group to become voluntary readers. This initiative meets the will to mobilize energy in an action in the service of social cohesion.
