Bpifrance invests €95mn in Médipôle, a leader in private hospital sector

On 20 July, MédiPôle Partenaires announced that it will benefit from a €95mn investment from Bpifrance to support its development. The operation will be completed at the beginning of August, Bpifrance will become so a minority reference shareholder of MédiPôle Partenaires beside Bridgepoint, the majority shareholder.

MédiPôle Partenaires is one of the largest private hospital groups in France. With a large range of specialities and a network of 63 hospitals, it is particularly present in 4 French regions with a high population density: Languedoc-Roussillon Midi-Pyrénées, Aquitaine Limousin Poitou-Charentes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Nord-Pas-de Calais Picardie. Renowned for its excellence centres, the group has treated over a million patients in 2015 thanks to 9,000 staff and 2,500 practitioners.

The investment from Bpifrance will allow MédiPôle Partenaires to continue the development of its regional medical centres, its investment in cutting edge equipment, as well as its external growth via acquisitions.

Bpifrance is making its 1st investment here in a private hospital group. It is therefore supporting the sector consolidation movement, like another of the Caisse des Dépôts group's subsidiaries, Icade Santé*, the leading investor in private healthcare property in France and contributing to modernising the French health care sector.
