On 1st June in Autun, Christophe Bouillon, President of APVF, and Eric Lombard signed a partnership agreement at the 21st Assises annuelles* of APVF about the Ecological and Digital Transition: the small towns at the heart of innovation. The aim: supporting the activity of the association - which promotes the specific role of small towns in the development of the territories - to run its network of 1,200 members.

This partnership, updated each year with Caisse des Dépôts since 2004, is also realised via unique exchanges with the elected representatives of small town on themes like the revitalisation of town and village centres.

In Montceau-les-Mines on 1st June, Eric Lombard, Valérie Obriot, President of Campus Mecateam, Jean-Claude Lagrange, Chairman and Managing Director of Société d’économie mixte pour la coopération industrielle en Bourgogne (Semcib - semi-public company for industrial cooperation in Bourgogne), laid the foundation stone of Campus Mecateam, in the presence of Jérôme Gutton, Prefect of Saône-et-Loire.

This campus will bring together all the educational tools required to train staff from the rail maintenance sector. The training centre's aim, the property section of which is sponsored by Semcib, is to train over 5,000 individuals over 10 years.

From 2019, Campus Mecateam will welcome an industrial building dedicated to practise (1,300m²) and a tertiary building for the reception and theory (1,500m²). Three 35 metre-long school-tracks, including a high speed line, are already operational. Digital educational tools will be at the heart of the project.

The total investment of €13.5mn including €2.2mn financed by the Programme of investments for the future (PIA), is in the context of the Partnerships for professional development and employment action undertaken by Caisse des Dépôts on behalf of the State. The legal and financial arrangements of the overall projects were ensured by SCET.

The support in MecateamCluster by the Caisse des Dépôts group illustrates the support offered by Banque des Territoires, launched on 30 May: advice via its SCET subsidiary, financial engineering and financing, in equity and in terms of its PIA mandate.
