The 9,000 m 2 building on a 7 hectare site is dedicated exclusively to creation and innovation and will offer scope for creating an ecosystem rich in connections, a hotbed of connected intelligence, by bringing together talents from all over the world: students, entrepreneurs, business leaders and managers, experts and mentors. The Camp aims to stimulate entrepreneurship, promote a culture of experimentation, develop transdisciplinarity and play a part in inventing solutions to make the metropolis serve humankind more sustainably.

This flagship French Tech project has brought public and private players together to support the development of start-up and digital growth business ecosystems, and is contributing to the creation and deployment of solutions for smarter cities. Over the past year and more, the Caisse des Dépôts Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regional office has been involved alongside local authorities and providing support to the project's co-founder and sponsor, Frédéric Chevalier. Local and regional authorities have provided the project with funding of €19mn in repayable advances for operations, and Caisse des Dépôts has taken a 33% stake in the real estate structure for a total cost of €34mn for the operation.

All the public/private investment partners were present at the official launch of the project, in support of Frédéric Chevalier: Minister of the Economy Emmanuel Macron, Pierre-René Lemas, Maryse Joissains, the Mayor of Aix-en-Provence, Elisabeth Viola, the Caisse des Dépôts Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regional manager, and the local authorities, as well as Caisse d’Epargne, Crédit Agricole, and Vinci.
