This establishment has been built on the site of a former station on the Poc-Corrèze line, which was opened in 1904 and closed for passenger transport in 1969 and for goods the following year. In 1977, a residential home for the elderly with 8 rooms was built at the former station premises. Various activities have been in operation since then, culminating in the present-day establishment which can accommodate 26 residents. The work was carried out in 3 phases over a period of 27 months: the extensions, the upgrading of the existing buildings and the complete refurbishment of the kitchens.
One of the specifications for these facilities, which are located in the heart of the municipality, was that they should be multigenerational: their proximity to the school has led to the creation of a kitchen within the EHPAD which can accommodate the school canteen, workers from the Chamboulive’s ESAT (institution providing job opportunities for the disabled), children from the play club, and residents. Approximately 170 meals per day are prepared and served there, and it is quite common for children to see one of their grandparents at lunchtime.
The EHPAD’s team is composed of twenty staff, namely 16 FTE.
