Compagnie des Alpes the leader in the distribution of mountain holidays with the acquisition of Travelfactory

On 9 January, Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire a 73% stake in Travelfactory, a company specialising in holiday rentals and group holidays, which is notably the leader in online distribution of ski holidays in France. CDA thus becomes the leader in the distribution of mountain holidays.

Thanks to this acquisition, Compagnie des Alpes will be able to:
  • round out its offer of distribution of mountain holidays and accommodation;
  • reach a younger clientele;
  • reinforce its digital expertise and footprint.


With an annual volume of business to the tune of €85mn and a turnover of around €35mn, Travelfactory is the leading online distributor of skiing holidays in France, with a 130-strong workforce.


“For us, it’s a matter of providing ourselves with the means to ensure that French mountain skiing gains market shares in a highly competitive European market – an orientation that we shall be the first to benefit from”, Compagnie des Alpes CEO Dominique Marcel commented.
