.The extensions to the Saint-Philibert EHPAD are designed to make life more comfortable for residents by:

  • increasing its capacity by adding 10 beds;
  • providing facilities for Alzheimer sufferers in a residential unit with 14 beds.

The new 2,700 m² building should be able to start catering for residents in spring 2019. Additional funding for the site will be provided via subsidies from the Départemental Council and Caisse nationale de solidarité pour l’autonomie (French National Funding Agency for the Elderly and Disabled).

The Saint-Philibert EHPAD has already signed another agreement with Caisse des Dépôts, which approved a loan amounting to €1.5mn over 20 years to assist with the process of upgrading the existing building.

Located at this site since 1977, the hospital centre at Tournus currently provides 150 beds for EHPAD residents, 20 beds for medical care, 30 beds for aftercare and rehabilitation, 48 home nursing places and 6 day care places for individuals suffering from cognitive disorders. Since February 2012, cardiology consultations have been introduced, followed by vascular surgery consultations in 2017. Telemedicine services (remote dermatological expertise and psychiatric teleconsultation) have been available since 2014.
