The building of the Nord Deux-Sèvres Hospital Centre* represents an overall investment of €90.128mn. With €21mn subsidised by the French state, €12mn by the Poitou-Charentes Region and €1.5mn by the local and regional authorities, the project is financed by a €27.2mn loan from the savings funds of Caisse des Dépôts and by a loan for an equivalent amount from La Banque Postale. Approximately €1mn also comes from self-financing.

The loan from Caisse des Dépôts is part of the context of a €20bn budget of loans from the savings funds which it is providing to the local public sector for the financing of structuring projects for the territory.

In a regional context of a fragile medical demography, the construction of the new hospital is an key element in the territory’s appeal to health professionals, both hospital-based ones and emergency services (medical and paramedical). This new 297 bed hospital centre will allow for the medical offer to be consolidated and will make the care offer for the 175,000 residents of the territory more sustainable. It is the biggest employer in Nord Deux-Sèvres and the 6th largest in the département, with 1,840 people employed, including 127 doctors.

Based in a 21 hectare estate, the new 27,000 m² hospital will be completely integrated with its environment. Compensatory environmental measures will be implemented. The building will respond to the High Environmental Quality demands (biomass boilers, green roofs and sun shield).
