Inauguration of Elithis-Danube, the first positive energy housing tower in France

On 15 June Elithis-Danube, the first positive energy housing tower in France, was officially inaugurated in the presence of Roland Ries, Mayor of Strasbourg, Robert Herrmann, President of Eurométropole, Thierry Bièvre, President of Elithis, investors, including Caisse des Dépôts, and Nicolas Desmazières, architect of XTU agency.

Delivered in February, it welcomed its first tenants - whose energy bill is close to zero - at the start of March and is already 94% occupied.

Costing approximately €20mn, carried out at standard construction cost and without grants, it is the property of the TEDinvest company consisting of Caisse des Dépôts (acting on behalf of the State in terms of the City of Tomorrow initiative from the Programme of investments for the future), Crédit Agricole Alsace Vosges and the Elithis group. Caisse des Dépôts and Crédit Agricole Alsace Vosges each provided €5.5mn in equity, the Elithis group provided €1mn and the remainder of the financing was covered by bank loans.
