The project is sponsored by Smipac, Syndicat mixte interdépartemental du Parc d'activités de La Croisière (La Croisière Business Park’s Joint Interdépartemental Syndicate), which is composed of 3 Communautés de communes (federations of municipalities) and which benefits from the presence of Réseau initiative publique or RIP (Public Initiative Network) at the park. The management of RIP has been assigned to Axione Limousin, in which Caisse des Dépôts has an interest. In addition, the SELI or Société d’équipement du Limousin (Limousin Equipment Company), a Scet network semi-public enterprise in which Caisse des Dépôts holds shares, is providing management services for the project’s construction phase.
Due to open in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the Data Centre will contribute to the development and economic attractiveness of the region by providing infrastructures of particular relevance to local stakeholders, and more specifically to the conurbations of Limoges and Guéret.
This secure data storage area is designed to be neutral, open and independent; it will be accessible to all types of clients, public stakeholders and private enterprises. The building under construction will have a total surface area of 650m2 and will be able to offer the shared lease of racks* and accommodation for computer servers with a capacity of 320 kW (i.e. 80 computer racks). It will provide optimum operating conditions in a secure physical environment, network connectivity and availability, and an enhanced energy performance due to the patented innovation in design provided by its partner, Atrium Data.
