The Build-up International fund, managed by Bpifrance as part of the €200mn Programme of Investment for the Future (French acronym: PIA) was launched on 13 September. It will assist independent French SMEs and ETIs in their build-up strategies abroad.
On 29 June Fonds national d'amorçage 2, managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French State within the framework of the Programme of investments for the future (French acronym: PIA), participated in the launch, by Université Paris sciences et lettres (PSL) and Elaia Partners, of PSL Innovation Fund, a seed fund with a target size of €75mn dedicated to deep tech start-ups.
256 companies have been created with the help of Technology Transfer Acceleration Companies (French acronym: SATT)* since 2012. 74% of them were supported by Bpifrance through various innovation financing schemes, including Fonds national d'amorçage (FNA), managed as part of the Program of investments for the future (French acronym: PIA).
LCA60T project, which concerns the development of an airship for the transport of heavy loads and represents an R&D investment of €61mn over 4 years, is financed €25mn by the Programme of Investments for the Future led by the General Secretariat for Investment and operated by Bpifrance within the framework of the R&D Structuring for competitiveness call for projects.
On 3 May, investment funds Hivest I and Major GO Amorçage II raised respectively €120mn and €60mn, the 1st one in favour of French SMEs and ETIs, the second one in favour of the innovative start-up in the French Grand-Ouest region. Bpifrance participated in these operations both in equity and within the framework of the Program of Investments for the future (PIA).
The 1st fundraising of Advent France Biotechnology Seed-Fund I (AFBSF I) amounts to €64,75mn. It was subscribed by Fonds nationale d’amorçage (FNA) managed by Bpifrance within the framework of the Program of investments for the future (PIA), European InnovFin-Financement de l’innovation and the European Investment Fund (EIF).
The higher education institutions of Paris-Saclay University, a global centre for training, research and innovation, launch an investment fund intended to favor the creation of technological and services start-ups. Paris-Saclay Seed Fund has just made its first closing for €50mn, in particular from Bpifrance via the National Seed Fund (French acronym: FNA) managed within the framework of the Program of Investments for the Future (PIA).
On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, Bpifrance and Commissariat général à l’investissement (CGI) evaluated the action of Ambition Numérique Fund financed by the French State within the framework of the Program of Investments for future (PIA), and managed by Bpifrance: it has invested in 35 start-up since its creation and has made 85 investment and reinvestment transactions.
