Merger with La Poste: the French Competition Authority gives the green light
In a decision handed down on 30 December, the French Competition Authority authorised La Banque Postale to take control of CNP Assurances and Caisse des Dépôts to take control of La Poste Group.

CNP Assurances launched its 1st green subordinated bond successfully
On 20 November CNP Assurances launched its first green subordinated bond* successfully. This inaugural issue amounts to €750mn with a coupon of 2% and maturity in July 2050 with early redemption options from July 2030. The funds raised will enable CNP Assurances to finance green projects.

Ten French institutional investors launch three Climate Ambition funds
On 18 November Caisse des Dépôts, EdF, and eight major French insurance companies (Allianz France, Aviva France, Axa France, BNP Paribas Cardif, CNP Assurances, Macif, Maif and Société Générale Assurances) launched three funds for a total initial amount of €500mn. The final objective: fighting global warming.

Business: Caisse des Dépôts the shareholder of the FSP management company
The Fonds stratégique de participation (FSP) fund, created in 2013 to invest in French companies and owned by 7 French insurrance companies 1 , has created a dedicated management company, Isalt, 40% owned by Caisse des Dépôts. The objective: doubling the size of its portfolio by 2024.

Caisse des Dépôts the reference shareholder of SFIL soon
On 9 October, the French Government, Caisse des Dépôts and La Banque Postale announced an agreement in principle regarding the transfer to Caisse des Dépôts of the shares in SFIL’s capital currently held by La Banque Postale (5%) and the French Government (75%), excluding one ordinary share retained by the French Government. Caisse des Dépôts, holding a 20% stake, would become the reference shareholder of SFIL.

The major public financial hub: the memorandum of understanding signed
The memorandum of understanding between the State, Caisse des Dépôts, La Poste and La Banque Postale for the creation of a major public financial hub was signed on 31 July. The objective: to strengthen territorial cohesion and combat the territorial divide in metropolitan France and overseas France via La Poste and Caisse des Dépôts, the local operators serving citizens.
