On 5 November, Netatmo, a French company and a specialist of connected objects, announced a €30mn fund raising made in particular with Fonds ambition numérique, managed by Bpifrance within the framework of the Program of investments for the future (PIA).
The Program of investments for the future (PIA) supports via Bpifrance the development of two digital service companies, Vulog and iAdvize. To enable them to go on growing, in particular internationally, the PIA participates in their fundraisings of respectively €8.4mn and €14mn.
Feline project, launched by 10 French SMEs and ETIs, benefits from a €23mn PIA support operated by Bpifrance. With a total budget of €56mn, it is aimed at developing integrated circuits and new generation equipments for 4G connected objects, in particular for cars.
Fonds Ambition Numérique of the PIA, subscribed by Caisse des Dépôts and managed by Bpifrance for the State, participates in Sigfox €100mn fundraising. Bpifrance also plays a part with its Large Venture fund, beside telecommunication operators, manufacturers and financial investors.
On 9 April, the new digital factory in Strasbourg, called Shadok, was inaugurated. It received a support of about €1.5mn from the action City of tomorrow (VDD) of the Program of investments for the future (PIA) managed by Caisse des Dépôts for the State.
On 1 July, Cathay Capital launched the Sino-French Innovation Fund supported by Bpifrance and China Development Bank. The fund will invest into 12 to 18 innovate start-up companies mainly based in France and China, with a strategy designed to boost their international development.
On 6 July, Catherine Vautrin, the President of Reims Métropole and of France University Cities Association, launched the multiservice card which provides access to the different services concerning student life, including the payment of public transport operated by Transdev. Caisse des Dépôts facilitated the setting of this innovation.
