At the first edition of the European Defence Week in Paris, Bpifrance announced the launch of the Defence Angels European Network (DAEN), the first pan-European network of Business Angels focused on defence technologies and strategic innovation. The goal: to support the most promising European startups in defense, dual-use technologies, and critical technologies.
The initiative is backed by two European federations—Business Angels Europe and the European Business Angel Network—as well as two national federations, France Angels and the Italian Business Angels Association, alongside numerous Business Angels networks from EU member states.
The creation of DAEN has brought together many institutional partners, including Bpifrance—through its international matchmaking platform EuroQuity—and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
The aim is to address the seed funding gap for startups developing technologies essential to Europe’s security, resilience, and competitiveness.
