Caisse des Dépôts in Europe and worldwide

Our action
in Europe

In line with its corporate purpose, the Caisse des Dépôts Group – through its various entities – is a committed player in Europe.

Its work covers areas such as financing the economy and implementing various European policies – from the European Green Deal to the digitalisation of the economy – as well as tackling issues ranging from competitiveness to strategic autonomy and social and regional cohesion. The Caisse des Dépôts Group is keenly involved in these areas as a long-term investor and operator serving the public interest.

Working closely with its European counterparts as part of the European Long‑Term Investors Association (ELTI), the Group promotes the role of long-term public investors, and contributes to the European Parliament’s work in this area.

As part of a network of national promotional banks and institutions (NPBI), Caisse des Dépôts is a partner to the European Commission for the implementation of European regional investment programmes. As such, it makes EU financing (for example under the InvestEU Programme and the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) as well as through the European Investment Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank) accessible in response to regional needs.

Our action
around the world

At the international level, the Group promotes Caisse des Dépôts' long-term investor model.

The Public Institution consolidates and fosters cooperation with similar institutions, in particular those operating on the African continent, sharing its know-how through technical cooperation programmes. It also supports countries wishing to develop similar programmes and promotes the sharing of best practices between peers by participating in the Caisses de Dépôts World Forum, which brings together 14 public institutions from around the world. A reference book on national deposit and development banks has been created/published to explain the underlying business model of a Caisse de Dépôt, its environment, and the Forum that connects them..

In addition, Caisse des Dépôts develops technical cooperation programmes with national development banks in emerging countries. It is a member of the Long‑Term Investors Club, which it co-founded in 2009 (https://www.d20-ltic.org/).

Caisse des Dépôts also supports the activities of the Group's subsidiaries around the world, in particular the STOA investment vehicle, which was set up together with the Agence Française de Développement to invest in sustainable development infrastructure, particularly in Africa.
