Accelerating the ecological transformation

The Caisse des Dépôts Group mobilises all of its activities and resources to promote a fair and resilient ecological transformation toward an economy that is neutral for the climate and biodiversity, and to encourage sustainable resource management.

Contributing to the national 1.5°C objective

The Caisse des Dépôts Group's actions form part of the French multiannual energy plan (programmation pluriannuelle nationale de l’énergie).

€27.9bn committed to the ecological and energy transformation in 2024

As the operator of an entire financial ecosystem, it has the capacity to support both economic development players and local authorities. It is active in all renewable energy segments (solar and wind energy, heat, biogas, distribution networks, etc.).

With dedicated offerings ranging from diagnostics to financing of construction projects, the Group is involved in retrofitting social housing and public and private commercial property and in accelerating the rollout of such projects. The aim is twofold: to increase the surface area retrofitted and to improve the quality of the work carried out by maximising energy efficiency gains, reducing the impact of the construction materials used and taking into account climate change adaptation.

It therefore incorporates adaptation into project design and all steering and management processes, reviews its existing portfolio and implements common measures in line with the EU taxonomy.

To help local stakeholders make increasingly complex decisions, Banque des Territoires offers a wide range of engineering, financing, service and deposit offerings to enable local authorities to develop and implement systemic adaptation strategies to meet the wider challenges in their areas, whether they are located in coastal, mountain or urban areas.
