Eric Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of Caisse des Dépôts, along with 92 CEOs of major companies, signed an op-ed piece* published in Le Monde on 5 May in favour of a collective mobilisation to make the post-crisis economic recovery Covid-19 an accelerator of the ecological transition.
The signatories call for increased financial support for energy renovation, carbon-free travel and renewable energies, as well as for an inclusive and resilient recovery. This recovery should also focus on the circular economy, short distribution channels and research.
Profound changes to our production and business models as well as to our lifestyles and our consumption patterns must be envisaged (...) Let us ensure that the trials we are facing together at present become an opportunity for everyone; let us put the environment at the heart of the collective recovery.
